Cheap watch needed... not worn one for years but I really need one but can't afford one I really like and don't want to go down the Hugo Boss / Armani crap watches.

Is this a respectable budget watch???

They're about £60.

I like quite a large face, doesn't have to be round but quite slim. I don't know anything about watches so go easy on me!

Anybody have any other sugggestions for a sub £100 watch for me to wear with anything from a Suit to jeans n T shirt which will look good?

£60 is a lot for a Sekonda, Amazon, Argos etc sell them very cheap eg http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sekonda-Quartz-3853-27-Sil...
If you have a £60 budget take a look on the 'What watch for £50' thread on here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... plenty of ideas over 48 pages!

I like Sekonda and have a few. Have a look at Casio too.

Ignoring the cheapo 'tag', they're probably the most accurate time keepers I've got (especially the Casio Waveceptors)

I like my sekonda, only problem with it is the strap is a tad on the short side,I have to have mine in the last hole.

So although it's a cheap watch, it's not gonna get laughed at!?

I want something nice a nd classy and tbh, goldsmith's doing 0% interest free credit on Omega's isn't helping me at the moment!

Go down the 0% route if you like. There's nothing wrong with a Sekonda though - mine was free smile

I got this one ^^^^^^^^ for £29 I think, at Christmas it is still going strong on a students wrist who treats it rough. He works in a pub and washes pots with it on, and he gets bladdered at any opportunity sleeping in bushes and the like. biggrin

A bit like our own Alistair.
biggrin

You might notice the scratch where the minute hand is on that picture.

I would tell you how it got there, but I can't remember hehe

I've owned a cheap Sekonda for about 3 years now, it hasn't had much wrist time but it most certainly deserves some respect. It's been worn quite regularly during the first year that I owned it and it didn't have an easy life! It's taken quite a few knocks and it's been subjected to some brute conditions, yet it still ticks away regardless. Quite accurate too.

Sadly though, ever since i've been bitten by the G-Shock bug; it really hasn't had much wrist time at all. But it wasn't designed for the same purpose, so I guess I can let it off there! Looks quite good coupled with a nice suit though.

I feel the pain in regards to Goldsmiths, very tempting!

I have a Sekonda quartz chronograph and it's been a good runner.

OP, the one you have posted is a bit of a Breitling wannabe. Not really important, but I thought you might like to know.

I was litterally just looking at this Breitling! How funny.

Yeah a bit of a wannabe but it's the face which I really like... Just found it on Goldsmith's for £40... can't go wrong.

Scrap that, the bracelt on the one from Goldsmiths isn't as nice.

Prefer the Sekonda if I'm honest.

Going for the Sekonda... I'll get an Omega later this year I think once I've paid for the holiday.

Ordered the Sekonda at the top of the page... it was the last one the Watch Shop had. I believe it is the old model now as the newer ones have a smooth bezel like the wrist shot above.

For a £60 watch I'm quite excited!

I'd like to find out more about watches... what makes certain ones expensive (mechanisms etc) and I'd like to start building a bit of a collection... maybe this for everyday work, another for casual and maybe an Omega for special occassions!
