Some one must have some news.
New bit of kit going on...in etc.
I was out in Perry's Chevy Tuscan earlier in the week.
He's sorted most of his niggles out now (it was a new build 2010 remember)
What a missile! Fantastic power.
You GPA guys are going to have your hands full with THAT out there.

Is it common knowledge about Smiffy / Jason yet?
A
mornin all, yes the rumours are true, Jason is now running the s3rbera this year until his tuscan is ready. and i am now the very proud owner of a stunning black griff,
so the plan is to hire a drive while i save up to buy a new racecar!
or buy a cheap race car and have some fun this year. or duck out this year and help with all the paddock stuff throughout the year.
i will still be going to spa with keith in his tuscan (sharing the drive)
i am putting the feelers out for a drive or any cars that might be up for sale and going to wait and see what fate brings my way
ps allways had my eye on a certain black griff;) i hope you haven't forgoten our chat in the showers at castle combe richard
i hope i still have first refusal on your griff

My 'cut and shut' ex Tuscan Challenge exhaust system was finally ditched over the winter and replaced with a bespoke stainless system by the people who do much of RMLs exhaust fabrication, including the Chevy BTCC and WTCC cars.
The bore of the old manifolds was too small, they were cracking and the welds leaked, I had no clearance for spark plug boots or leads - in short they were wholly unsuitable. OK for a 4.5 AJP, not so clever on a 6.2 Chevy, and won't have helped with the det issues I had with my LS6
The new system looks fabulous. Chris Tullett Exhausts in Aylesbury - they did a superb job and I'd highly recommend them.
I'm sorting out some hefty under-floor damage from the enormous kerb I beached myself on at Rockingham last year - though the good news is the honeycomb floor saved the car from what could have been far more damage. And a split driver's door from the same incident.
Apart from that my dampers are in for a revalve specifically for this car (we've previously run the car on Darren D's old TC dampers, this is the first time we'll have had dampers tuned for the car) - when they are back we'll be in for a quick re-map to take into account the new exhaust, then we'll test....

Tuscan is waiting for its engine back (hopefully next week) and its dampers back Spent most of last season on Steve Glynns Sagaris then a shake down.
The tas now has the 24v slotted in place and it waiting whilst i sort manifolds.
Sagaris is still a rolling shell, whilst we decide which way we're going to go with cage and shell, but its on the back burner for the moment whilst I concentrate on the Getting the Race at Spa up and running.
Im currently penciled in for the Britcar round at Spa in June as well, so could end up doing all my racing in belgium this year <LOL> but hope to do some DTEC rounds as well, and both cars available for hire once I've shaken them down and am happy with them.
Im also running a couple of cars in the swinging sixties as well which will be interesting.

Oh Tim, and I thought that what went on the showers stayed in the showers! ! ! Anyway I no longer have a black Griffith - unfortunately after my little disagreement with Billy Thompson at OP last October my Griff is now a paler shade of yellow, a little too pastel for your taste I suspect!
However the good news is that it will be out at Snett via a new set of front discs and a couple of other upgrades, none of which threaten the 2013 back to basics (I mean purist progress) which JR didn't mention in AR's recent article!

A mate of mine from Sports/Saloons racing is finalising a deal -this week- to buy a Tuscan Challenge car, which will be returning to the DTEC after a period of inactivity.
Another deal being closed on another Tuscan Challenge which AFAIK hasn't raced DTEC before, but the driver is far from unfamilier with driving these cars.
Sorry to be cryptic , but i'll leave it to the new owners to fill in the details.

Meanwhile, in other news..
Tried these 10" and 12" forged split rims on the purple car, look rather good in the metal but we'll probably be running on original spec 9" Dymags this season.

Oh, and after going to great pains to remove all aero from the red car and achieve an '89 silhouette ,i had a change of mind and we've decided to fit the later splitters and rear spoiler.
As we're doing some BARC races as well, our first race is 26th March at Oulton (of course
).
Thats all i can think of for now.

See,
I KNEW there was stuff going on...
Mine is staying stock (so we can race in historics too) and we're looking at continuing the fettle to get the power and the stopping back to where it should be. Been some weight reduction for me and the car so expect us to be MUCH quicker!
currently rewiring (have seen a TCC loom
no seriously...

)
Going to take some time to sort and I'm off to Oz again for April, but thanks to the later start this year, we should be out ok.
Spa and Donnie are defo and anything else I can fit in too.

You do realise that yellow paint pigment can make yellow paint the heaviest of all the colours, the horror within the works BTCC Mondeo team that was sponsored by Kwik-Fit in the 90's
All you need now is a bit of lilac and it will be in original Hockin colours!OSR said:
