If your car's a few years old, it might be a good opportunity to get any stone-chips sprayed out of it at the same time rather than doing it yourself. I see yours is Rosso Red (not sure whether you mean pearlescent or not) - best to speak to a specialist, before going ahead with doing it yourself, as it could've faded and is notoriously hard to colour-match if it is the pearlescent one.

Depends on if he's talking blended/unblended. Unblended, just for spraying the pods to match, fair enough. Blended = lots of fibreglass work (as we both know). Then there's the wiring loom, £££ worth of bulbs and stuff, etc...

If it's not pearlescent, then the colour match shouldn't be too hard (assuming it's not faded badly). Was the original non-pearlescent red Rover Nightfire Red or something similar? I know I had a little (but not too much) trouble getting that matched properly after some vandalism.
It just seems really cheap when a headlight conversion is normally around £1k. OK, so you can knock off £250 for the pods. Then £150 for the lights themselves and metal rings to surround them. But you're still at £600 = lots of labour. I guess if 3 hours of that is in the wiring at £50 per hour, then you're down to £450 normally just for the fibreglass blending and painting.
Anyway... If your mate's a helpful soul & knows his stuff, then well done to him for charging a decent price.
