Here's a large rock to lob into a still pool.
Looking at Wedges prices in PH Classified what is a wedge really worth.
As I type a 2.8ltr Coupe at £2500, up to a SEAC at over £17k?
Are SEACs really worth that much, over, say, the price of a 280i.
I guess that someone might pay a wee bit more, but SEVEN times the price?
I know condition is always an issue, and having an interesting history always seems to be a selling point. (Which Wedge doesn't have an 'interesting' history?)
Hope that nobody gets too wet as the waves radiate out...smile

I like to think it's not SEAC's that are overpriced - it's the rest of them that are undervalued!

I ended up with a £550 Maserati Biturbo a few years ago, after similar circumstances! biggrin

About the Wedges though, I have noticed that there have been some for sale lately that look like barn-finds that have been barely any cheaper than well presented cars with plenty of tax and test! confused

Notwithstanding the difference in performance and 'desirability', I suppose 280 v SEAC has to be down to rarity as much as anything.

I don't think anyone will be buying a 280 FHC turbo very cheaply either. scratchchin

I guess that it's a case of you pays yer money etc.
I still not sure if some of the prices on PH Classified are for real or just people fishing for a buyer with too much need...

There is a dealer in Florida that has put up a 280 three times (at least)it was $16k, he had it at $13k this time.
I don't think he has ever had a bite.
He first put it up as a 1986, but it wasn'tbiggrin. It appears someone told him to check the door mirrorssmile He now lists it as a 1985 car. First registered maybe.
Decent running 280s have sold over the last couple of years for about $3.5k.
Just before Christmas a "it ran when I stored it car" sold for just over $5k.

I think it's time to unload mine. (at least they could drive it homesmile)
