Could we please make the above two subjects topics in the P&P please?

There seems to be a hell of alot of threads started in The Lounge recently regarding people having trouble with their relationships, infidelity, questioning pregnancy etc, that I don't want to read about. Then it takes me an extra few minutes to trawl through the pages to find something interesting to read into. The Lounge is turning into a Dear Deirdre Column basically!

On the other hand:

I think it would be handy to have a Cosmos / Universe Topic available to us for those who wish to discuss the Galaxies, Planets, Lightspeed etc. This way we can hold interesting debates, dicuss theories and provide decent answers to questions raised. It also puts all the geeks into 1 section - myself included. The sooner this Topic gets a place of it own the better.

Thanks for your time! smile

I don't think a "Dear Dreary" forum is a good idea, It'll only encourage them, but I agree about a place for Space/Science/Etc topics being a good idea. Maybe combine it with Boats, Planes and Trains to create a Science and Engineering forum.

The Beard Forum has a better ring to it...

You think? I reckon it'd be quite a good idea, it'd keep all that tedious st safely tucked away from everyone else and it'd also probably keep the threads free of pisstaking by bored Lounge readers, so the posters would get a more useful response. Can't see it generating enough extra traffic to have a significant negative impact on PH's bandwidth consumption. Everyone's a winner.

Either that or outsource the provision of answers to an external specialist and charge a fee for starting the threads smile

Might be worth having a chat with Brighton Derly re the outsourcing as, I hear he's after earning some extra pocket-money.

Jesus! Half the population in the Lounge will have topped themselves by the time you get around to it. You'll have to drag in Clare Raynor to moderate whilst we all wait.

Ok Will, shirley some of that workload you have had has cleared up now. Any chance you could fast-track this? I'm sure the protocols aren't too tedious for a new section/split topic. You're killing us here! smile

Most sensible Space and Science discussion will be found on the "Trains, Boats and Planes" forum (I know - it doesn't make sense but there you go).
