focus st170 to fiesta st

I'm thinking of making the transition from focus to fiesta as I'm finding the focus too thirsty, prob average about 25-27 mpg. Looking at fezza st mpg figures on paper it looks good, mixed mpg somewhere around 38 some reviews say. However, I have seen a few forums and articles that suggest getting that sort of consumption figure in the real world might be a load of pony. I was wondering what sort of mpg figures fezza st owners are getting from mixed driving and how many miles to a tank, which I notice is 10 litres smaller than the focus. Cheers

I think mpg between the 2 cars will be negligable. Over 10k miles it might be £100-£200 a year cheaper to fuel if you are lucky.

if you want to save fuel why dont you get the fiesta zetec s tdci?

I got 34mpg out of the fiesta ST
But guys on fordfiestast.co.uk get between 22-39mpg depending on driving style....

Cheers guys, it will be diesel for me next time methinks, just thought that in an ideal world if I could get a 'swop' deal for another fun car that did another 5-10 mpg then that would be good short term due to price of petrol and having lost a load of salary in recession.
