Hi Guys,

So I have a slow puncture from a tiny hole in the sidewall (any ideas how that could happen?)

Ive always put PS2s on my D3, thats what it came with, got some quotes today, and they are a staggering £300 each, I paid £240ish a year or so ago. They seem to be gold dust now, and some people are saying they are discontinued?

Need two rears - 265-30-19 Extra Load 93y

Here's the questions, Other branded tyres (Continental/Pirelli etc) are nearly £100 cheaper a side.
Its not a hyper saloon by any means, a 200BHP diesel. Is it worth going for a cheaper tyre?

If I do, would it matter if I have PS2's on the front and brand B on the back?

Thanks

Or - c

Would you consider getting a used tyre? if so plenty on Ebay.

And then at the right time change to the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

Never really considered used - would it be wise?

Whats the story with 'Super Sports' are they the new ones?

PS3s are cheaper than PS2s...at least they were a couple of weeks ago...and I'm guessing PS3s should be a better tyre?

My PS2s were so on the limit that double sided sticky tape would have been a worthy upgrade so I can't really say how they actaully compare side by side. All I can say is that they work well on my FD2.

I'm running PS3s up front and PS2s on the back and it's cause no problems at all.

I understand the Pilot Super Sport replaces the PS2.

The PS3 is not the same " performance level" as the PS2

HTH

Edit: I should probably add that everyone I have recommend V12's too (and Hankooks in general) has been very impressed with them. They don't have the 'premium' name of the Pirelli/Michelin crowd so you don't have to pay the premium pricetag smile

PS3 is not the replacement for the PS2 (rather just cashing in on the "PS" brand and PS2's success). The PSS (Pilot Super Sport) is.

Used continentals on a number of my cars and always been impressed, regardless of whether they were the eco contact ones or the sports contact version.

Pirelli P6000s aren't called ditchfinders for nothing though! Apparently ok on jags, but they were absolutely dire on my alfa and if you look at the tyre thread, there's plenty of general consent to the same.
