Rear lights - what are they from?

Trying to source replacement bulb casings as I've noticed corrosion whilst changing some bulbs - i take it they are Ford parts but does anybody know which? I don't want to free up the silicone again if I can help it.

Ford Mondeo (mark 1 I think) - but the saloon version - NOT the far more common hatchback.

There's also a guy who pops up on ebay with lights now and again if you search. He'll do smoked lenses too!!

Cheers, I got a set off Ebay but turned out to be the hatchback version.

Having identified that one of the bulb holders was corroded I went to trouble of trying to inspect the other. Unfortunately one of the bolt/nut fittings is rusted so bad the nut won't budge - and the bolt snapped. When I unscrewed it the whole bolt&nut loosen and the light fitting moves away from the bodywork. Looks like a big job to change a bulb eh !

If anybody knows of any stock of these light fittings please get in touch I'm having trouble locating them so far.

Thanks Metalman, already on the case with Ebay with varying results. Got stung by one guy who only sent the lenses and then wanted to argue over the bulb casings - even though the advert said "lights" not "lenses". Some supplied with bulb casings some not. Unfortunately it's the O/S that I really need. Might need to go to a Ford dealer and see if they can supply new.

If I didn`t have to cut up the rear clam I would have fitted a set of those ages ago.... much nicer than the Mondeo units IMO.

Agreed, id do the same, however im going for the next best thing, cutting up the lights.

They're the Hella premiums aren't they? I much prefer those to the ultralites as they're red but much too big to fit in my existing clusters

Yeah they are the hella premiums. They are the colour and size I wanted, I believe they will look better when lit than the ultrabright versions too with smaller spacing between the LEDs. The non LED indicators don't require additional resistors either and look pretty good too.

What clusters do you have? My lights are just the standard items. Given Graham quite a task but I'm sure he will make a good job of them.

They do look much better, are the outers stop/tail or just one or the other?
My clusters are the noblemods afterburners which are basically a mould of a mould to get to where other people like Graham are now. Only problem is they've been bonded in so well I'd have to destroy them to get them out I think

According to the description they are all stop/tail outer rings so should have 4 rings as side lights and stopping which was the main asthetic aim of doing this, the deep red lense is a nice colour too. Clear/chrome lights don't do anything for me and I think would look tacky.

I wanted noblemods lights when I bought my car but they had stopped trading by then sadly.

Yes I have to agree. I've gone from the standard Hellas to ultrabrights and am now considering something else.

What are you doing about reflectors?

I've bought some round 55mm reflectors from svc, it was the smallest they done, will mount them on the lower mesh above defuser for Mot then if they look pap they will live in the doorcard. .

Yes they do look naff and as soon as my MOT is done I'll be doing the same!
