Window Tints - ?
Discussion
Hello All,
I did post this in the Bentley forum, but no responses!
Anyways, I am taking a car (Bentley Turbo RL) abroad to a sunnier country. Has anyone had any experience with garages preferably in or close to London that have worked on larger cars.
I am not going for the "gansta" look, but was thinking of light grey smoke colour tints, to help block the damage caused by excessive heat and uv rays..
thank you.

Depending on the distance you are willing to travel to get this job done, or someone suggesting someone closer.
The guys are good up north and have trusted sites in the south. http://www.ultimatetinting.co.uk/find-us.asp
It woul be an excuse to get out in such a nice car.

I ended up asking Professor Google and found an "oik with a van" who is going to come and remove the tinting on Saturday...lets see what happens....
One company I can definitely not recomend is Tint King (http://www.tintking.co.uk/), they failed to turn up twice on Saturday and on Sunday despite being booked for 11am they refused to return call and inform me of their whereabouts...Cannot wait till the Polish get into this industry...at least we will get some work ethic.
A bit late no doubt but I run a window tinting company and have done several members vehicles on here so if you require a quote or just some general info please feel free to get in touch and I'll do my best to help you. Don't get time to check my PM messages often but if you go to www.autoshineandtinting.co.uk you'll find my contact details there.

I'm now at the 3rd window tint company in London to fail to turn up on time or call back. They quoted between 120 to 150 pounds to remove the film on the 612. I will pay you 200 if you come and take off the film from my car by this Saturday (Saturday prefered) in E18 or during the week in EC3A.Duncan

AJSG, please pm me your contact details asap and I'm sure I could fit you in, or alternatively ring or email me using the contact details from my website. I really don't understand tinter's who don't show up, they must have far more money than me!
Thanks for the recommendation Dave, glad you noticed I popped a few photos of your car on my gallery, to this day I'm still very jealous of your garage! Haha.

AJSG, thanks for the email, the appointment has been made.
Dave thats very kind of you, I may very well take you up on the offer next time I'm in your area.
Henry Hawthorne, I had exactly the same opinion on the C63, was an amazing car. Luckily we didn't wrap it, we just tinted it at Mercedes Benz world, and I say luckily because under street lights at night it looked bright pink so the company who did wrap it had to re-do it for free I believe.

So you did that Phantom with chrome windows... that was incredibly tasteless of the owner!

Shmee, the phantom was a long story. I turned up for the appointment and the vehicle had already been tinted, after about 45minutes of talking I established he'd just had it done by another company but they'd failed to do it dark enough for his taste and apparently what was classed as the 'in style' in his home country (which is where the car was flying back to the following week). The reason for the 45 minute debate was I tried to make him realise how much classier a traditional black film would look, and also why having the film on his windscreen was so dangerous, but this customer was adamant of what he wanted, he simply wanted another layer of film put over what was already on it.
Was the most bizarre tint install I've done to date, and the only reason I did it in the end was I'm a true car enthusiast and phantoms are a rather rare car to get booked in.
The same customer also had a stunning Maclaren SLR, and that had been tinted back in his home country with silver film on all windows, but bizarrely it was installed to the outside of the glass, I don't think I need to tell you how I felt this looked!
I guess we all have different tastes, but for the record, the phantom with silver film isn't mine.
