Cheapest car with ceramic brakes?

I've often wondered what the cheapest s/h car is that you can buy with ceramic brakes.

I always see ceramics as some exciting hi-tech F1 trickle-down, only available to supercars and the like, even though road ceramics have little to do with F1 and you can get them on big heavy luxury saloons now.

Still, they're only found on top-of-the-range cars for now, were always an expensive option and surely are of little interest to most people.

So, cheapest way to get them second hand?

At that rate of depreciation before long the need for new brakes will cause it to be a write off!

There must be some S1 Lotus Elises still running the MMC brakes out there - so much earlier than any other ceramic disks that they are forgotten about.

Mine is, but I'm not sure they are classed as ceramic?

They are very light, and last forever (50k for the pads, 100k for disks) but thay are very scary when wet.

Classifications are always awkward. Personally I'd vote no - the MMC disks are just as much aluminium as ceramic.

Good brakes tho - shame the manufacturer stopped with them really.

It's not surprising the Elise brakes weren't touted as ceramic in 1996; it wasn't a buzz-word at the time so there wouldn't have been a marketing benefit.

Current ceramics are mainly carbon fibre rather than aluminium, but the Elise has as much claim to have ceramic brake disks as any of the pricey more recent cars.
