Hatchbacks are seen as very down market in USA, whereas small sedans are more acceptable. Although I hear that the mood is changing.

In the USA the VW Jetta far outsells the Golf IIRC

It's a Fiesta with a boot. That's what the thread is about. Failed reading comprehension, did we?

The Focus "sedan" has been on sale here (UK) for a few years now.

As the other poster above said the US buys sedans not hatchbacks.

ETA: I know the op posted a fiesta, I posted the sedan focus.

Not just USA, many Asia markets prefer saloons.

Many strange booted hatchbacks in China.

Google the Ford Ikon.

They were a Fiesta with a boot for the Asia Pacific market. There cars were considered such luxury items that if you owned a bottom of the range Fiesta with an oversized arse you clearly had a chauffeur, so they came with electric windows in the back, but not in the front. smile

It's pretty much only Western Europe that "get" hatchbacks. As was said, the rest of the world regards them as down market.

Jesus christ, is it running on 12s?

The one thing the Fiesta has going for it these days is looks.

Starting to see a few on the road in Canada (mostly these awful saloons) but there are hatchbacks in the dealerships. Prices start at $12,999 Canadian dollars

My Dad had one of these as a company car instead of a base spec Mondeo, I quite liked it TBH.

Looks like a mini-me Mondeo from that angle.

Supermini saloons are not a UK favourite - remember the Skoda Fabia Saloon, i think they sold 5 and all in beige to OAPs!

Although apparently the hatchback Fiesta is outselling the booted one by two to one.
