Lancaster and RH have both provided me with commuting cover. Lancaster wouldn't do business use though - only commuting to single place of employment.

I can go to my office but can't use it to visit sites/customers.

I think it is worded as "a single place of work" or something like that.

Used to have it through Lancaster and my mum has it through Footman James.

Currently have the option on my Admiral multicar policy to add it for the B, but I commute in the Alfa.

My Mazda is insured with Ecclesiastical through Peter Best Insurance, who cover travel to/from work.

My Mx5's classic policy through Footman James includes a single place of work - and they've been very well priced and good whenever I've needed to contact them for anything

Tried a thread similar on this and got no replies so sorry to hijack but to add a dimension;

With commuting, for an 18 year old? frown Having difficultly. Usually either 18 but no commuting, or commuting but over 21/25 frown

My Footman James policy has class 1 (I think that's what it's called) business miles, which allows me to travel to various places for work. Unlimited mileage too.

I like the sound of that.

So how old does a car tend to have to be before it would qualify? I'm thinking about the CS here as it's 18 in April.

Have you tried getting some quotes on non-classic policies? When I had my Spitfire at 19 it was as cheap to insure it via a regular insurer as it was via a specialist, but I got commuting cover/courtesy car/etc in the price.

My latest Posche policy specifically excludes commuting, altough my previous policies used to allow it. Most exclude business use even at Class 1 level & have done for a while.

Haven't got a clue but my policy is on a 1974 Scimitar.

It used to be that you couldn't get business use on a classic policy - Practical Classics did a story on it a couple of years back.

Has this changed (having renewed my insurance in the last 3 days and gone for a non classic policy again as a result rolleyes)
