Light as a feather, fit perfectly on existing rails. Very figure hugging. Special vents built in as requested. Seperate alcantara cushions on the way.

Theyve been available over here ofr about a year now - think they are about £500 - 800 each depending on whether they are single or double skinned

Tony, please don't take this wrong way but why? Does it save a significant amount of weight?

Are you on a weight saving plan for the car (if so, what else is on the list, I've idled away many an afternoon dreaming up my ultimate spec Elise and always thought there wasn't much weight saving to be had).

Or was it one of those 'gotta have it, let's bash the plastic moments'!

Lovely seat whatever, please post a pic when cushions arrive...

Hi Chris,

They save about 6kgs total. No, not just a splurge, this is part of a massive refit of most things on the car. Just a pet project of mine. This is the list of things done so far:

AB Motorsports (AB MS) Cam, AB MS Aircon, KMS Ultralight 16"/15" Wheels, Precision Pro Brake Discs, RS14 pads, SS Brake Hoses, Yoshimura Titanium Manifold and Exhaust, JS Sports CAT, AB MS Throttle Linkage, Short Shift, Gear Linkage, Removed Rear Grill, Quaiffe ATB, Ultra Light FlyWheel, AP Racing Clutch, Sparco Removable Steering Wheel, Luminar Window Film, Yoko A038SS Tyres, Reverie CF Seats and CF gearknob, Hurricane HID Lights, Air Horns, Mocal Oil-Water Cooler, Heater Matrix Removed, AB MS Induction Kit, Clarion MP3 + Subwoofer, Nitron Suspension, Nylatron Bushes, 2x stiffer ARB

Obviously, to get that final bit of weight reduction I can remove all the stereo components. The aircon upgrade added about 5kgs but it was an absolute requirement here in Hong Kong cos it's so damn hot and humid. The aircon mod makes the air colder than in my Audi!! The window film is to stop the heat from the sun coming in too. I've also taken out all the carpeting in the car and trunk. Not sure what the total weight saving is yet, but will put the car on scales soon.

It defintely flies though and is a very raw and rock solid car now.
Cheers

Tony

As these are twin skin and custom made, they cost around 650 quid each. Reverie quoted before they actually built them, and they wished they'd charged a lot more because they were a bitch to design with the venting built in....Took about 5 months.

Thanks Tony, that's a great sounding spec. Please keep us up to date on how it's going, especially when you put her on the scales.

What's the AB MS Throttle Linkage btw?

The guy who tunes my car is a K-series / Lotus expert who actually does most of the Lotus Motorsport stuff out here. His name is Alan Betts, hence AB. The throttle linkage is just a better built piece of kit than is normally attached at the throttle.
