Hi All,

I remeber back in the 80's & 90's the Jag XJ was considered 2nd only to RR, for that magic carpet ride.

Today the roads are in a pretty bad state, so what would you choose as the best riding main-stream car on the market?

Has to be a Range Rover.
Vogue, with all the trimmings.

Always loved the look, may never own one but hope it would live up to my expectations.

Edit, Speeling

You can rule out any of the current crop of German limos on ride. The BMW and Audi in particular are shocking.

My view would be Range Rover or XJ depending upon wheel and tyre choice.

Lexus might be good but who would part with this sort of money for one new. I think they sold 17 of them in the UK last year so I guess rare !!

Yes, because they understand the question.

C6 is the first cool Citroen in ages.

I'd like one too. In shiny black.

A6 Allroad as a left-field option.

Magic carpet ride as standard.

Surprised the jag is so popular thought it would be between the rangie and the s class, always seen the jag as a bit of an old mans choice with depreciation greater than that of the german marques with lower build quality I picked the range rover of the s class due to it's higher ride height, better visibility more practical for loading etc, and decent off road ability.

Sorry but have you seen the new XJ? The interior quality is unrivalled, and there is no reason for it too hold its value worse than the Germans, look at the XF if you need an example of a Jag holding its value well.

Lexus LS460

I couldn't believe the car had even been started when we went in one. Quietest car I've ever been in.

17?! Really? Bloody hell. I'm surprised but, like you say - who'd be brave enough to buy one new. Lovely, lovely car though.

For me, a big Bentley or Roller but I'll admit they're in another league when it comes to the £'s.
