On my drive to work today after bad traffic and high temperature (not above 100) my oil pressure started to drop about 5 more than normal on tick over. This has never happened before even when the temperature went above 100. I looked in the engine bay and some water was getting onto some hot bits as there was some minor hissing and steam. I have also noticed that I have had to top up the water more than usual recently. Any ideas?

Could be your radiator on the way out, or fans not working.

Are both fans kicking in around 95?

If you need a new radiator or re-core, you're looking at about £300 - pricey for a land rover rad!

The fans are OK and the radiator was new 12 months ago! I can't see any coolant leak on the garage either!!!!!

I'm at a loss

Could also be the metal connecting pipes starting to leak under pressure.

The rad is not £300. You can get the original re cored for around £100 ish and an uprated 3 core for about 180 ish.

Tower View supplied mine for about that. Same rad as fitted to the Griffs and Chimaeras BTW unless it is a later car which had an ally one fitted.

Oil pressure can vary more than that with normal operation.
