With the lack of supply, and the new Aventador what is the consensus for future Murcielago Prices?

In recent months they seemed to have firmed up a very slightly and with only 5 below 100K are these now set to rise?

I think the styling of the Murci is just as sexy as the Countach and in future years could be as desirable

Surely they will do the same as the Countach and drop to £35,000 and they perhaps start climbing again? But any value increase is years away.

Going by auction and ebay prices I wouldn't pay any more than £50,000 at the moment for a saleable colour car

I'd rather buy one that would at least get me home.

I personally doubt that Murci prices will go the same way as Countach for a while, by which I mean suddenly shoot up. I suspect the recent firming of prices, which to me looks to have been primarily on low-mileage LP640s, might possibly be to do with the waiting list for an Aventador. In the longer term though, I would question whether the Murci would be quite as iconic as the Countach, and has certainly been made in greater numbers so is unlikely to become as rare. Just my personal opinion of course.

Wishful thinking methinks!

Cheapest car around one here at present (and there aren't many) is a leggy one at £89k - they seem to be drying up????

Yes, but the cheapest car for sale on here is 82k and has been for sale for months and months and still not sold. I can't see a dealer paying anymore than £55k for it?

Firstly it's a LHD for sale abroad (so a very different value proposition) - secondly they have had two the same colour (first one sold some months back) - and finally there have been several sold in the £85-99k range in recent months/weeks (even thought its still winter) that were good cars. Only two RHD on here at present - one of which has had a "unusual" repaint to white (not to everyones taste) and one of which has Blingy wheels on it (a big no-no on a Murcie - for aesthetics/taste reasons aside from what it does to the diffs!) - so that explains why they are still on the shelf so to speak.

Call any dealer and ask them what they would pay for one, it's going to be cheap!

What a car dealer might offer and what the owners will actually sell for are two very different things... if you can find me one in a reasonable resaleable colour car for £50k I'll transfer the money today!

Ahhh, so you wouldn't pay £50k for one in the unloved silvers or greys?

Perhaps my £50k wasn't so far off the mark after all

Re the cheapest car on here, sorry yes that is left hand drive. My mistake but the bigger European market means it's worth more than a right hand drive

The firming of Murci prices aren't really comparable to past trends in Countach price. Murcis have hit some price resistance around 90k because the prices of Lp640s have shot up (there are very few for sale, some have gone abroad), there is a loose link in prices between 640s and Murcis; I see the firming of Murci prices being due to the rise in 640 prices rather than them taking a bounce off the bottom price hike that Countachs saw.

thats incorrect actually - RHD are in fact much rarer (on a per capita - per car - demand distribution curve basis) - witness for instance how many used Lambo's are finding their way to the Far East and Australasia. There are many more LHD examples in circulation depressing pricing.

Isnt it just a case that the weakening of the pound saw most UK 2nd hand Murcis go abroad and now there aren't many left here for sale.

I assume they will just follow Diablo depreciation curve unless significantly more were made.
