Fitted the Spal deluxe electric window kit with illuminated switches today, very simple modification and a good piece of quality kit. I would like to thank David.Mt for all your advice and help, it made the job very easy.

First job grind off the old hexagonal fitting.

Pick the correct cog from the kit.

and screw back on

Next pick the most shallow one from the bigger cogs

Feed the motor down into the door and attach onto the cogs

The motor will rest perfect in the corner and sit on one of the door bolts

The outer supporting arm is too long so needs cutting down

Simply drill through to connect the arms of the motor and put tie wraps to hold the motors, because the motor is sat on the door bolt and is braced into a corner the tie wraps are all that is required to hold it in position solid. When i tested the fastening method to see it it could move, it would not budge even 1mm, it is held completely solid.

Cut a hole in the door card to take the switch

Fix the switch in position by screwing from the inside

Drill a similar hole in the door panel for the wires

Then choose the right size blanking plate from the kit and job done.

Well that the fitting part done, it just needs to go to my electrician now for being wired up,which the most difficult part of that will be getting the wires through the door rubbers.
Make sure that before you do this modification you spend a little time to align the windows in the sliders properly.

I have two buyers hassling me at the moment, it is very tempting to take the money and run before one of the wheels fall off smile

Loads of useful stuff.....
Chris does the kit come with any kind of current limiting? I mean if you were to hold the button down once fully opened or closed will it keep forcing the mechanism? I'm just concerned about the flimsyness (is that a word?) of the Noble door/components that after some use there may be problems.

They do have a thermal overload built in which should prevent damage if the buttons were held after the mechanism had completely opened or closed. The manual window mechanism has end stops on it so you can't wind it too far up or down and you are relying on these on electrified so they are worth checking/strenghtening if overly concerned but mine have held up fine so far.

No i was actually talking about selling the Noble again smile
I know i have put alot of work into the car but it would would have been crazy to rebuild it the same as it was originally, the rebuild was a perfect opportunity to put a lot of things right on the car, which really did not add much to the rebuild cost. So i would always have done the same whether i build it for myself to keep or to sell.

I did build the car for myself, but all that has done has made it more attractive to other people aswell.
One of the potential buyers is the guy who crashed it, he wants to buy it back after seeing the new and improved version back on the road, but i have told him the price has gone up, I also have another interested party, a very wealthy car collector in Nicosia who has gone crazy for the car and is pushing me to sell.

The only reason i bought the Noble back and rejoined the Nobility was because it was only 3000 euros to buy the salvage rights, before the opportunity came up i was on the verge of buying a Cayman S supercharged or a Lotus europa Turbo and then tune it to produce more power.
It was just too good an offer to refuse at 3000 euro and gave me the opportunity to strip it down and rebuild it from scratch, which when i owned it previously was always something i wanted to do and at the same time get a better car for less money.

So yes, i may well be accepting an offer in the near future, i love the car but everything is for sale at the right price and at the end of the day i couldnt lose because if i didnt have this current situation with people hassling me to sell, i would always have the car built to my taste.
If i had not gone to so much trouble with the detail on the car for myself, then maybe these potential buyers would not exist, so in essence to not build the car to my taste may have been the thing that would lead me to keep it, but then i wouldn't want to keep it, lol.
