I have decided that my white faced watch gets no wrist time and it shall be replaced by something blue. I'm therefore looking for inspiration from you guys.

I want it to be 40mm ish.

Everyday ish use. I like Chronographs and sporty style watches. Divers etc.

Blue faced not fussed about strap/bracelet.

It can't be a homage/copy of anything. Tudor subs maybe but I'm sure you get the picture.

I'm trying but can't seem to get into Seiko. I realise they are great watches but there is a little bit of a snob in me that can't show off a Seiko. Although a few 70's ones are very appealing.

Automatic. Preferably an in house movement.

No more than a couple of grand. Depends on what I can get for the current one on the chopping block.

Feel free to try and sway my opinion. I like looking at nice pictures.

Very nice Sinn.

I have this Breitling

and a Krug Baumen from my younger stupid days.

Funnily enough I found it the other day. I'm tempted to whip out the internals put an automatic movement inside make a face for it and use it as a project watch.

What was I thinking?!?!?! I had a gold one as well.

Perfecto, albeit not in-house.

Sorry what does this mean - that it isnt a Sinn built watch?

The Sinn's (someone correct me if I'm wrong) use brought in Swiss movements. ETA I think.

The watch I'm thinking of chopping in has an in house movement and I'd like to (I blame Cyberface for this) continue with the movement (excuse the pun) away from having a range of watches all with ETA movements if possible. Although I want a Monaco and a Speedmaster.

ETA wise I have a Carrera and a Colt. The Carrera is staying and the missus wears the Colt quite a bit.

Shame it's quartz, although the price reflects that

Not in-house, but something to consider.

As Miguel says, the movement is ETA rather than a proprietary Sinn movement (which they may have in Basel later this month...)

Miguel - the older speedmasters have Omega movements, well, revised Lemania ones, from the 321 to the 1045 I think...?

You're right they do, but I believe the Sinn team do quite a bit of work on the movements before installation. I think a strict 100% 'in-house' is going to limit the options somewhat.

Really? I'm a bit of a Speedmaster novice. What age/year would I be looking at for an Omega movement?

Hi - would you mind telling me what the model number of the blue IWC is please?

Also where would you buy used to ensure you are not getting a fake?
