Why the hell are they constantly changing the rules!?
Why is it up to the GT overlords as to how we play a game that we paid for? I understand the ban on trading cars over 1 million is to stop those on ebay making money etc. but if the market's there, and people are (Stupidly) willing to pay, let them get on with it.
It annoys me that some cars appear in the Used Car Dealership less frequently than my girlfriend offers me a night of hot passion, and now the only way to get hold of them is to wait until that blue moon event happens. Why should it matter to them?
I wanted GT5 because it's suppose to be an accurate representation of how each individual car handles. I don't want to wait forever, and keep repeating events just to get the money to drive a particular car.
I PURCHASED THE GAME, LET ME GET ON WITH IT!

They're not so much changing the rules as plugging glitches. OK stopping hi-value trades is an unfortunate (and rather clumsy) side effect of that, perhaps with future updates it will be possible again (if they can close the exploits another way).Why is it up to the GT overlords as to how we play a game that we paid for? Personally I like the UCD concept, at least until I run out of premium cars I want and get bored of driving the 150+ standard ones I already have....makes it special when you finally get a car you've been waiting for.
GT5 is crap in so many ways, but I don't get all the complaining about having to grind to get cars or events, I'm at level 25 so I can race in any event up to the 2nd endurance race (which I probably won't bother with anyway), have never had to grind and have a load of cars I've never even driven yet. And a load more in the dealerships I'm looking forward to getting.
At the end of the day, GT5 is a product made by a group of people, if you don't like the structure of it why should they change it for you? You wouldn't ask a film director to reshoot a scene you didn't like, or tell a car company to redesign your car to your personal preferences (unless you're super rich!
).I concede that some elements are so poorly implemented in this game (e.g. issues of practicality such as replays, menus etc.) they really should be changed, but I don't criticise PD for trying to preserve the integrity of collecting (i.e. keeping rare cars rare) and the achievement system since that is a core part of the series.
Without wanting to sound patronising, I keep thinking of a bag of sweets analogy - some people eat them all at once, then they have nothing left and feel a bit sick. Others savour them, the sweets last longer and ultimately that person enjoys the experience more! PD are like the parents, trying to slow down the greedy kids, who then resent them for it
!My problem isn't so much with GT5, it's how the rules change once you've bought it. The UCD is good idea in principle, but when you have to wait forever for a particular car, it gets annoying.
I still love the game, but sometimes i just want to jump in a car and drive, instead of having to spend days earning a car i'm only going to use a couple of times.
And i still don't get why we have so many variations of the same car...

Spielburg doesn't change scenes after i've bought the DVD
