Just planning for my insurance renewal - any suggestions/recommendations for MX5 insurance which includes track-day cover? - and at a sensible price

(I'm not 100% committed to doing track-days & if I do it will probably only be one or two per year, so I'd prefer an arrangement where my annual premium is reasonable but where the excess on the policy increases for the track-days. I had something similar for a 911 but amazingly the MX5 is more expensive to insure through the same people.)

all suggestions welcome

Flux and whoever AON are currently using both cover track use but it's barely worth it. I believe the excess is something like £1800 or 10% value of car which ever is highest so you'd need to do a lot of damage to an expensive car to make it worth bothering with a claim.

Could try Richard Eggar (REIS) or Footman James (they operate for AON).

Personally I don't bother with trackday insurance on my 5 - not really worth it for the cost and level of excess.

Pretty sure the cover from REIS I've just had through gives 4 days with £500 excess. Thought this was pretty reasonable.

I'm with CCI - 5 days incl so long as they're run by TDO's on their approved list, you have to give them a call and let them know 48hrs in advance iirc and it's UK only. Still, better than nowt and my premiums the best value I could find.
