Tomorrow i will be buying a Chim but i need a snotter as sharing the old mans (temporary thing) isn't working...pooped out to see the squeeze earlier and was late back...he was going out and needed the car= not amused.

The car will be a work/weekday hack and ANYTHING goes, has to be cheap, reasonably reliable and gentle on the juice...an estate would be ideal but a little hatch will do. Budget is sub 500 quid.

The Polo looks the best out of that lot, although it won't have PAS. Very solid little cars. A little TLC and you should be able to sell it on for £600+

I had one before. Boring as anything, but a very good reliable car. Will happily do big miles.

I recently picked up a mk3 golf for £500 with tax and test. it has needed, so far, a 95p exhaust clamp and a wash. good little car.

I'd be in the polo straight away, my wife's nephew has has one for a few years - from 17, now 20, drove it through a drystone wall, needed a headlight, bumper and I mole gripped the bonnet straightish - will not die. fantastic car.
