I'm about to start a refurb on my 1989 S2. The clutch has become a little juddery, the sump has leaked in the past and really needs to be replaced, the diff has some play in it, the chassis/suspension needs cleaning off and painting, I need a new exhaust etc etc etc.

I'm planning to take the engine out to sort out the clutch and sump. While it's out the front chassis area can be properly cleaned and the suspension stripped and cleaned. I'm planning to hire an engine hoist for the job.

I'm assuming the engine lifts straight out once it's unbolted (once the bonnet is off). Are there any pitfalls or gotchas I need to look out for? I'd rather learn from somebody else's mistake that make one myself. Is there any other work anybody would recommend while the engine is out that may save work/time in the future?
