Have you got any "What if this had happened...?" in motor racing?

What would have happened if Williams would have kept the Honda engine in 1988?

Would McLaren have won all them races?

What if Damons throttle linkage hadnt broken in the Arrows at Hungary on the LAST LAP.

What a win that would have been.

....Schmacher hadn't run into Coultard in Spa?

....if Ferrari had had 4 tyres for Irvine instead of 3?

....if Senna had hit that wall a little slower?

I wonder, if Damon could go back and have either the WDC in 94 or that win in Hungary which one he would go for. I kind of hope it would be Hungary - he didn't really deserve the 94 championship.

Any driver is going to take a WDC over anything else isn't he?

Plus he got that "extra" win with Jordan a few years later anyway.

And?

The question was if Damon would have like to won that or won in Hungary for Arrows?

Not sure if Schumi deserved it either, the benneton was running ilegal programmes, launch control etc. Damon may not have been the best or fastest driver in 94 but after Senna's death he rose to the occassion in a car that wasn't class of the field.

If it was his first, maybe. But I reckon I would have wanted the win in the Arrows.

what if Mansell's tyre didn't blow in Adelaide '86
what if Mansell didn't stuff it in qually for the Japanese GP '87
what if Mansell had a more reliable car in 1991?
what if Mansell wasn't booted out of the team for 1993?

Would he have been a 5 time world chump?

What if Hammy came in a lap earlier in China 07?
What if Villeneuve didn't go for that gap at Zolder '82
What if Toivenen didn't crash at Corsica '86
What if McRae didn't make that helicopter ride in '07
What if Herbert hadn't broke his legs in '88
What if Brundle's car hadn't failed him in Canada '92

What if Jordan had managed to keep hold of Schumacher?

A) How successful would Schumacher have been?
B) How would those years have turned out without the Schumacher/Ferrari domination?

In Tom Rubythons Senna book (I know it gets panned) he says that Senna wanted to finish his career at Ferrari. He and Berger were good friends, he was already at Ferrari and learning about the team, that he'd then share with Ayrton.

I guess Ayrton would of won the '94 WDC, probably '95 as well as Hill only lost that due to some over ambitious moves that caused retirements. '96 too I guess.

So we'd be as far as '97, Michael Schumacher would have 0 WDCs and maybe at Williams or still at Benetton. Senna maybe as many was 6 WDCs now at Ferrari in the twilight of his career. Coulthard probably wouldn't of driven yet, unless for a tail end or mid-field team.
