Sealing the floor

Paul, in my experience always use a low grade sealant from you local builders or plumbers merchant, the high grade sikaflex is too strong and makes it a nightmare if you ever want to remove the floor again, you can also use a bathroom silicon sealant.
You do not need a strong sealant for it to stop water ingress.
Put plenty of it on to get any excess will get squashed out the sides and through the holes, do not try to clean off the excess at this time, let it dry for a couple of hours and then the excess will peel off in long strips.
Same with the rivets, if selant is squashed through the holes leave it, and push the rivet up to squash and flatten the sealant against the floor pan, again when it dries, the excess just peels off very easily, this way you get a good seal at the rivet locations.
