Water leaking into boot (a lot)

Hello,

My Cerbera boot filled up with a puddle of water last time it rained heavily, mostly on the passenger side.

I'm not convinced that this is purely down to a poor seal with the lid so I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem with a leak from somewhere else?

At least you can get in your boot.Check around fuel filler neck mine drips here a little.

After much head scratching trying to find my leak, I put my 5 year old (with torch) in the boot, closed the lid and sprayed with the hose. Turned out be leaking around the light pod. I used some Unibond gutter sealant (black) to run a bead over the existing seal and it worked a treat. Any excess seemed to peel off without too much bother.

His 5 year old is now 28 and still in the boot

Also check around where the hinges bolt down to the boot.

Thats bodging it! Do it properly Man
Loosen of the 6 bolts holding the hinges to the body (3 each side) and slide them down to lower the boot, ie bringing it closer to the body. Now adjust the bot catch - loosen it, and slide it UP to bring the rear of the boot down.

Mine was seeping through where the petrol filler cap goes through the rain channel. A bead of clear silicone around the join sorted it.

there are a couple of holes in the boot floor that are over an inch in diameter that could let water spray in as you are driving along.
They are situated either side and just forward of where the fuel tank sits.
