We are planning our honeymoon to New York, then the Carribean. Should my fiance change her passport prior to going, or book it in her current name? Thinking of visa requirements for USA mainly.

My wife still travels on her passport in her maiden name, we've been married since 2008. Just after your wedding your wife should have enough ID in here maiden name so it shouldn't be an issue.

My other half wanted to do it all in her married name, but it turned out to be too much hassle with everything else going on and so she left it.

We got married last April, and I took advice from my sister.

Don't change your name for the honeymoon. When you get back, change passport first, then driving licence ( they will contact passport agency and accept that, not require yr marriage cert).

Change your bank account at a time when you can manage without spending anything for a few days. My (and my sister's) experience is that they will assure you it will be perfectly smooth, and it frankly won't be.

If I could turn the clock back, I would have kept my maiden name at work. I'm still getting weekly emails from IT saying I don't exist, and it's affected logins to business critical systems and even to getting my expenses. I suspect that in a company employing 35,000 people, getting married and taking your husband's name must be very rare indeed.

Just back from honeymoon and we're doing what Rude girl said.....the wife went on her passport in her maiden name and now we're back is slowly going to change her name, but isn't going to for work purposes as it'll be too much hassle.
