Just thinking about iconic cars that have been produced.

Obviously you have the obvious ones
-Mini
-E type
-AC Cobra
-Citroen DS
-etc etc etc

But, what about those curveball vehicles that are icons too.

Here are a few that i think should get a mention
-Reliant Robin
-Smart fortwo
-2CV
-Ford KA
-BMW M1
-Jaguar XJ
-Honda NSX

now- over to the masses, what cars would you suggest?

Was it Audi Quattro which brought 4wd to the masses?

FIAT 500 (But could be the retro fad we're having)
Mazda RX-7 (Good use of Rotary and turbo smile)

Then the pistonheads usuals
MX-5
Ford Puma

I agree that the Lotus Elan is an icon.

But are you saying that the MX5 is not an iconic car also?
