Quick bit of advice on T350!
Discussion
Evening chaps. Ive had a quick scan of the first few pages and the couple of stickies.
987 boxster 3.4 to T350??
Be grateful for the usual advice youve probably given out numerous times!
Mainly running costs, major component reliability and if I had a prang sourcing spares?
I'm very up to speed on the technical side of cars so don't worry about the newbie slant.
Appreciated....

Hi
The body panels are all available from a number of specialists, glass can be a problem at the moment, most other spares are still around, not heard of any problems yet. I have a Tuscan and not had any problems. The speed six with a rebuild is now pretty good (touching wood), and generally they are good if well looked after, but they are a supercar.
There are a lot of really good specialists that have filled out the gaps since the factory went.
Running costs will depend on the car and the owner. Generally the better the car is/has been kept the lower the bills. Just my opinion of course.

I've gone the other way T350 > 987S last year.
T350 is a great car, had mine for 4 1/2 years + 24,000 miles. 8 trips abroad including Le Mans & around Europe.
Major service £ 750 ish, minor £ 450, every 6000 miles alternate.
Main gripe is small things that go wrong, cheap to fix, only problem is that they tend to leave you stranded sometimes (fused links, imobiliser etc). Seemed to me that every component used is under-par quality-wise. Air con is crap, interior trim quality is passable, ignoring the glue seeping out from the 'leather' seams around the roll cage & general rattles etc.
Also, I had worries about the engine reliability & rebuild costs etc, might be rarer than widely discussed, but I did know 4 other people who had rebuilds before 30,000 miles @ £6-9k cost. Clutch can also go anywhere past 10,000 miles (£1k to replace).
Porker is slower in a straight line, but not by much and to be honest, through the twisties, it would murder the 350. And I had Nitron adjustable suspension on the T350.
Depreciation should be quite low now as they are pretty rare cars, so servicing costs aside, should be quite a cheap car overall.
Glad I owned one, the attention the car got (especially abroad) was quite incredible.
If I ever see a T350 for sale with a LS V8 conversion, my wallet will be twitching uncontrollably.
Best of luck in your search.

I came from a boxster s -> M3 -> then T350, only use as weekend car, done 3500 miles in a year (now 30K) and no major problems.
Money spent so far:
Service: £450
Problems so far:
Heating issue (was blowing hot air out main vents): £126.00
Oli leak from pressure switch (pretty normal): £80.00
Loose headlight bulb - fixed myself
Really needs a front end respray which quoted today at £600+VAT (should last 3/4 years)
depreciation - none
So pretty good so far and less issues than I ever had in the Boxster or M3. These cars are very unique and special so even if it cost 3 times running costs than I have spent I would'nt hesitate, they are awesome cars!!
