I am thinking of selling the Alfa. It's a tough decision as I love the car; but I just don't use it since moving to London (maybe once every two months?). This is obviously not good for it as it is just sitting in an underground car park.
So, my question is - what is it realistically worth? I've had a look on the classifieds and think around £2k.
The details are:

02 plate
77k miles
7 months MOT
12 months tax
2.5L v6 Lusso with cream momo leather, bose system etc
Pretty good condition; few scratches in paintwork which could be removed.
Full service history, mot's etc.
In general, a lovely car I will miss.

More to the point, given current fuel prices, would it actually sell?

£2k sounds a bit steep to be honest. I recently sold my 2003 1.8 with similar spec for £1000, via Ebay.

If you want a quick sale, stick it on Ebay with a low starting price and see how it goes. If you want to get as much as possible, stick it on AT or PH for £1999 and see if you get any interest? If not, reduce it by £200 every fortnight until it becomes an insult to let it go so cheaply and end up keeping it!

Well yes, that's the thing - they really aren't worth what they should be (or we think they should be) are they?
Thing is, it's just not being used.. no need for it in central london I guess.
And ~£2k is better than nowt.

Sad to hear you're selling... and you are right in saying they should be worth more than what they go for. If your car is good with all the main service items done recently then you could achieve £2K (ish)... fuel prices won't help at the mo. I know when I bought mine, after doing the research the 2.0TS is the best all rounder, not much slower than the 2.5L, but better economy for less money. I got a 2.0TS Veloce, 3 owners with FSH and new MOT for £1,695 on a 2001 plate.. click my nic to take a look. All the time there are plenty of 1.8 and 2.0TS out there the 6-Pot (although very nice) maybe harder to move, hence the need to maybe drop price.

Personally I'd keep a hold of it biggrin
