Alarm issue

I have a problem with the alarm. The doors are unlocked, but when I open them the alarm goes off. When i close it the siren stops after a few seconds. With both key fobs the same problem, also after changing the batteries in them.

What can I do?

Have you tried closing the doors and arming then dis-arming the alarm.

Yes, but no reaction at all from the car (lights flashing etc.)

Thought it could be the battery, should replace that one, just to eliminate that possibility. But I have had in on a charger for 2 hours now and still nothing.

They can get out of sync and it sounds like yours has done this. I am sure I read somewhere that if you disconnect the battery and reconnect it that this sorts things out, if you do try this then make sure your key fob is with you.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly that knows %100 what to do to reset it.

Thanks Kevin, i'll wait for that. It is the second time I had these alarm issues, the first time it was empty batteries in the key fob.

Biggest problem with these alarm issues are the neighbours.... I live in a very quiet neighborhood, well it used to be quiet :-)

Same here bud,we had an issue with the z3 last week alarm was going for 3 hours.Wife at work me at work 18 year old son home car keys with wife=stessed me on way home to sort out

Could see that one coming ;-). It is an empty battery. At 4am the 'i am dying sound' woke me up. Took another hour to stop. Damn, how is it possible that I like this car so much that I let it get away with this again...
