Have to park the car on drive as door swing too wide for bloody useless garage! Is it worth spending 100 quid more than anywhere else for the tvr dealer cover or should I just get one from somewhere else? If anyone has any recommendations, much appreciated.

Rich - I bought the Covercraft cover from a dealer and though it's pricey (cica £300 inc VAT) I have to say it's a proper job (it'd want to be though!). The fabric is breathable and water literally rolls off it and it also comes with a locking cable that goes under the car - not a real theft deterrent but will stop the weather/mindless hooligans ripping it off the car.

No. I'm lucky. I have a double garage. I can just about get the cerb in, as its also full of junk.

I use an all weather cover, although mine is partly covered by an open ended garage.

Got it second hand but like new via an advert in Sprint for £100.

Excellent value and purchase.

Jo - you ever had any bother with scratches? Does the car need to be clean and dry before covering, or is it ok to put the cover over a dirty and/or wet car?

Been looking at Covercraft myself, and was outbid on the one selling via ebay.

have had no problems with scratches so far although to be honest I am pretty mindful of covering the car if it's not cleanish.

The material is fully breathable so covering when wet is not a problem (although probably not ideal) and it also allows heat to dissipate - which is ideal

When I first bought the cerb, I bought a cloth one, from Argos, for covering it while it was in the garage. It went back 2 weeks later as it was scratching the paintwork.

I just used to reverse my car into the single garage with it as far to the near side as poss. I then had carpet on the wall. I would push the door against it and the slide the chair back and then let the window down and the jiggle out!
Danny used to push the car in and out of the garage.

Cheers guys, i think the world and his wife have looked at the one on ebay. Makes me wonder why its being sold - surely you would have given it to the new owner if you has sold the car?!

All the best covers seem to come from the states. where they have never even seen a tvr, but have been in touch with carcraft and a couple of others by email so will let everyone know when i get replies on pricing and fit.

I use a TVR cover for mine, and it does'nt scrath but just for the record it is not waterproof. It is quite old though and i hear the waterproofing can go after a while. To compensate (and until the garage is built ) i use a sheet of polythene underneath the cover but am always careful to only cover the car when its dry. Works a treat mind, if a bit of hassle.

Bought mine a year ago from Specialised Car Covers. Triple layered breathable fabric. Over £100 less than the Classic Car cover one and better quality IMHO.

It's made to measure for the Cerbera and fits like a glove. Not scratches since I've had it.

As it's breathable it can be put on when the car is wet and will then dry over time. You can put it on when dirty but then you'll probably want to clean the inside of the cover before you next use it.

Overall (as maybe you can tell) very impressed

My mother-in-law offered to knit me one!

Guess it would keep her hands busy and her trap shut for a couple of months though
