Orlando Car Hire
Discussion
We're off to Orlando in mid May and I'm keen to get the right car.
I've read that the various hire companies are more likely to stock certain cars.
Does anyone have an idea of which company is hiring what? I have heard that Budget mainly supply Fords making the likelihood of getting a Mustang higher is this the case for other hire companies with other makes?
Ideally we'd like a Mustang, Camaro, challenger or similar. It doesn't have to be a convertible either.
Also, do you think it best to book say an intermediate car and attempt an upgrade on arrival or book a convertible guaranteeing a better car albeit with the option to swap into say a similarly priced hardtop challenger?
thanks

I flew into Sandford two years back for a fly drive.
I had paid for a decent SUV through Dollar, but when i arrived i saw a nice shiny red Challenger in the car park, and enquired about it.
$200 or so dollars later, it was mine for the next two weeks :-)
It was only the 3.5ltr V6, but was nice enough all the same.
I'm not sure if what i paid was a good deal or not, if i was to take into consideration the initial fly drive price. But i was on my honeymoon and not really caring.

I think we used Dollar and got a Mustang if that helps?
My advice is this though, when you land and have got through customs checks (if flying direct and therefore haven't already) then leave one person to get the bags and you go and get the car.
If you wait for your bags and all head down, then the queue will be longer.
Quite often we've got the car and have it waiting outside the terminal to pick up the people who waited for the bags, saves time and effort.
