It's, er, a bit 'striking' for me, but four and a half thousand miles?

dearer than the lovely yellow 964 turbo they sold last year

and the mods don't match any particular factory halo car, which makes it lose its appeal/value IMHO

does look stunning though I agree

I believe this was originally a 964 Celebration and I think this car looks brilliant (I am biased as a previous owner of a Celebration in Viola metallic).

So let's say a Celebration these days is c.£25k, how much money on top do our knowledgeable posters here reckon is required on top to bring it do this spec?

i.e. none of this work would be done by the owner, the car would be handed over to Malton / PS / Sean Lockyear to do it

Would have thought that was 4650 miles since the full engine rebuild. You wouldn't usually split the case and replace the shells on a 4k mile engine.

Approaching RS price!

I had a conversation with JZM about a few different cars and we discussed my car going on SOR there and what they thought was achievable. I cant bring myself to sell it however after just finishing it..... yet smile

I drove a 997 GT3 gen 2 and a 997 GT2 back to back.

The GT3 is simply awesome!

What does this mean? Is it good/bad?

What did you think of the GT2 compared to the GT3?

They were sure that they could get more for it than the figure I suggested it was worth.

Loved the GT2, build quality was amazing and handling very predictable. Just felt a much better put together car than the 996.

Power very progressive and turn in very nice..... however 5 minutes in the GT3 3.8 around Silverstone soon dispelled any ideas of me buying a 997GT2. The GT3 is lighter on the front end with a much better turn in and the noise!!!!!! also the power is plenty enough as well as more usable than the GT2. Instant throttle response.

All in all just confirmed for me that I prefer NA cars no matter how far ahead the 997GT2 has taken the game.

I would like to try a GT3 gen 1 in anger now to see the difference between that and the gen 2.

Sounds like most of the cars at JZM.

There are a fair few 996 GT3's on the market at around the £40k mark. Most probably SOR with the owners hoping to cash in.

The JZM GT3's are in cases slightly stronger!

Shame they aren't priced more realistically to sell!

Agreed.

The figure I suggested and the figure they suggested was a fair bit different however.

In general, I would agree that JZM are priced at the top end of the market, ins ome cases within touching distance of OPC prices.

In this case though, the 24,500m GT3 Comfort (http://www.jzmporsche.com/porsche-996-GT3-Comfort-for-sale--188.html) appears to have quite a lot of work being done to it which makes the price look more attractive.

I don't really go with the. "it cost a fortune to build" aspect.
Whenever Ive modified cars, Ive done so for me.
This kind of money's better spent on an RS, which will not lose value that readily.
There's no guarantee this is a celebration model, it could have had weld ons.
Nice car, but nearer 30k than 60 all day.

This car was profiled in an issue of GT Purely Porsche last year, the Easter edition I believe. It is a very gorgeous bit of kit.
