... Greatest show ever made ?

Certainly one of my favourites, I have to say at just under 35 might be a little young to have fully enjoyed the first series, however I can distinctly remember the topic of Tuesday mornings at school being the pervious nights episode which was on at 10:10 after Panorama.

They really don't make them like that anymore.

Sorry just had to say it.

Cheers

Sunil

Hi,

I have to admit the movie was a bit of a let down from the original film. I still have many episodes on VHS, but of course I bought all the episodes on DVD.

Just been listening to some of the old tunes on iPhone (youtube) whilst working this arvo.

I remember forcing my uncle to buy me a cream linen suit from concept man when I was 10 years old. I must have looked such a tt watching around Croydon town centre!

There's the popular and well-known thoughts of the show, the clothes, the flash cars etc, but underneath it all it was a really pioneering set up.

Episodes like 'Payback' and 'Out Where The Buses Don't Run'.....the soundtrack, the cinematography, all was stuff that just hadn't been seen at that time for a regular television show. The production values were off the chart for the era. Now all the shows, CSI, Las Vegas et al just regurgitate the same with well known guest stars, relevant music choices etc.

Brandon Tartikoff had a great idea. Michael Mann made it come alive.

SUCH a fantastic series. Season 1 and 3 are my favorite. I'd seriously struggle to pick a favorite ep, but I never tire of 'El Viejo', 'Stone's War'....and all the rest smile

One of the best chase scenes of the series:

This is one of my all time favorite tv shows, I got the first and second series for christmas.

My favorite episodes are,
"The Home Invaders"
"Definitely Miami"
"Florence Italy" (great one for p'headers)
"The Maze"

There was a few from the later series that I saw on tv when I was younger, which I need to get on dvd. I remember one when they went under cover as boxing promoters and they get chased in the Testarossa by a Cuda and a Corvette. Also liked the one where Crockett thinks he is his undercover identity, the one with the biker gang and the one where the IRA blow the Daytona up. I can't wait to get them on dvd and rewatch them.

She put a baby in a bag!!!

Just watched that scene (yes I am bored sat waiting to go home) and read some of the comments about the "great editing"..... am I missing something, or was the front door miraculously locked after the first guy has smashed his way in!?

Awesome program. Recently bought the all series boxset off Amazon for about £50.

Currently half way through the third series. Some great music, funny watching the weird clothes, 80s customised S classes, and scum getting shot to bits at every opportunity!

Amazes me how many now famous people were in it like Bruce willies and Wesley snipes.

Also, none of the women were hot frown the worst being the 2 female cops (Trudy and someone!) no chance they could make any money as hookers wink

I must admit i only attach it to the Daytona, but the Tesstarossa was in more episodes!

That's the one I remember I've been told was one of the best.

Has anyone who has watched any of the original episodes recently on dvd been a) impressed or b) embarrassed by them ? hehe
