I have one with a small leak if all else fails could just re-core it. I've gone for a pro-alloy one now but I can't see any difference between it and the standard one.

Chris, I have one that we have just removed. I had this re-cored about 18 months ago, but it now leaks. If it helps, you could have it, the company who re-cored it would redo again at a good price. My advice is go for new, I squeezed Pro-Alloy to I think it was £360 or £380 and delivered next day!!

If you are interested, let me know.

Had to have a new one and Pro Alloy didn't have any in stock, and I'm stuggling to see the difference as the one from Noble looks pretty good quality and seems to be alloy as well.

I thought Pro alloy is 50mm core and the Noble one is 42mm core?

Having seen the Pro-Alloy, it looks a better quality product. Even with my leaky rad, the temps never got above 80-85 degs, guess its all down to choice. My car was around 4.5-5 years old when the rad started leaking, would expect them to last longer, hence why I went the Pro-Alloy route

Strange, I thought the ECU governed the dial. Sits at 90ish whatever the temp, and then only swings round when the coolant is close to boiling. Or did you measure temps independently?

Try Martin at Bespoke Performance 01992 500038, I'm sure he has a number lying around.

I bypassed the ECU, put a new temp sender to go with my smiths gauges, its the only way i could see any difference with my cooling mods, the fans were cutting in at 98 as they should so it was accurate, the pro alloy was managing to hold temps better, whilst crusing in 30deg temp the other day temps were being held at 96, after a run and then leaving the car on tickover it would be a few minutes before the fans kicked in etc.. its not very scientifical but with the old rad my fans would kick in quicker and more often, i am seeing a performance difference, with the old my fans would always be on.

It seems bad but its not considering stock Lotus Elises run at 110 to 115deg over here, Ferrari 360's see temps of around 106.
