I think this line from the site sums it up nicely:

"The VIABTOR requires no maintenance and has no influence on the other electrical units and systems in the car."

As is always said about these devices, if it made that much difference, manufacturers would have fitted one in the first place. In the case of this devices, it appears to be some kind of capacitor- a component that would cost manufacturers pennies to fit if they don't already.

Sounds very plausible to me. Big car manufacturers like to save money, and so wont spend 10p on a capacitor that reduces fuel consumption by 10%.

I bought one of these when they first came out, only paid £30.99. Cheap for what it is / does!!

I use it alongside my +20bhp-power-resistor and my electric intake supercharger to produce 250bhp from my 1600cc whilst still getting over 50mpg.

Top stuff, well recommended.

It would take more than a simple capacitor to eliminate any potential noise on the ignition circuits.

Also, most (probably all) ECUs have stable on board regulation that makes them relatively immune to all but the most severe voltage spikes.

And there is no way that said voltage spikes would be eliminated with a simple capacitor.

It is possible that there could be a zener diode AND a capacitor, but a zener diode capable of the current required would have to be quite a beast.

Ask anyone who has fitted one of these massive capacitors for their audio system if their fuel consumption improved.

I very much doubt it.

I would love to see some independent testing of this 'viabtor' device.

I wonder if it vibrates whilst working?? Perhaps the missus could get some use out of it

Don't you think a manufacturer who could gain a 10% fuel consumption advantage over a competitor would use it if it worked?

Car makers spend billions collectively on research and development to improve fuel consumption. Who knew all they needed to do was buy a 10p capacitor...

And fold down the rear seats, which also reduces the weight significantly (less weight as it's spread over a bigger area). Make sure you tell your insurance though. Remember to record the conversation with them and post it up on here.
