Hi all, currently out of the country for a few years and i'm just about to insure a 1 litre clio thats been sat rotting in my mates garden for years so i dont lose my ncb.

I've got 6 years ncb and have held my licence for 8 years with no points/claims, so having to pay nearly £400 to keep my ncb going (most companies will only accept a 2 year old ncb certificate so i cant just ignore it) seems a bit steep.

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on how to keep my ncb going for less?

Thanks

Find a car that's cheaper on insurance?

At that price it can't be worth doing.

My mate bought a Mini 850 log book and "insured" that on a classic, limited mileage policy cost around £60 when he needed to do the same as you.

Also check that you a fulfilling your insurers T+C's as some require you to be in the country for at least 9 months to hold a policy (this will vary per insurer so its worth checking.)
