My mum is now 80 and is having problems getting travel insurance at a sensible rate. We have tried some of the on line sites but many exclude over 80s or let you enter all the info in and then tell you they cannot cover...very annoying!

So does anyone have any good suggestions? Is there anyone over 80 on PH!

She does have a blood pressure problem, which is under control, but does make it more difficult to get insured.

To be fair, she's 80 and she has high blood pressure.

You wouldn't expect insurers to be rushing to cover her for five quid.

Sorry.

You could try All Clear travel insurance - they claim to provide cover for all ages and all medical conditions.

Both Mrs lazy_b and I have medical conditions which need to be declared, and so far we haven't found anyone substantially cheaper for European travel.

Sorry.
If she's being treated which it says she is, she's at no more risk than anyone else of that age...

She's going on a Cruise, two weeks in June to the Baltic, but she is looking at an annual policy if not too expensive.

Thanks, they are showing up to 80 in the on-line application, which will do her for this year. I'll let you know how I get on.

We did get a quote from SAGA, it did seem expensive, but I do understand why.

Another place to try is Age Concern.
