Need a pointer to the best place to start a thread (even if it's not on PH) so please bear with me if this isn't appropriate.

The company I work for maintains lorries and trailers - they have a stack of unused "obsolete" parts. Too many to list individually on eBay, and unlikely to sell if put on as one or more job lots.

Is there anywhere I can start a discussion on the best place to sell these without getting regular, car-owning pistonheads upset?

Probably worth pointing out that I'm an IT geek and my sole qualification as a pistonhead is that I own a car. My knowledge and expertise beyond changing wheels and jump starting is nonexistent...

I got the job of selling these parts because "ebay is on the computer, innit?" and I have a decent camera.

Probably best off tracking down a breakers or parts seller and seeing if they are interested in taking them as a job lot, much easier than messing around on ebay.

Do they just want shot of them or are they after real money?

If the latter then you're going to need to have an accurate description of each part, it's only a short step from there to ebay.

Thanks, lads.

They just want shot of them - they aren't earning any money sitting on the shelf. There's some good stuff, there, so they don't to just sell it for scrap - but it costs them a hundred quid each time I spend any significant amount of time on the project...

As you can see, it's all boxed and good. I'm beginning to think an automated list program for eBay might be the way to go...
