T28 good for 550 bhp
Gt28rs good for 600 plus bhp... but you need new bigger induction pipes, oil lines and metal water lines to the turbos.

As daddysumo say's, l would stick to T28's unless you have everything else to support + 550 bhp
well my car is in many pieces right now, so its a good time to carry out extra work if im going to do it. I will have the injectors, valve springs, heads, big end bearings, flywheel, clutch etc all done anyway so what else would need done other than what Steve mentioned about the air,oil and water lines?GTO600 said:
Basically you need a full Mountune spec engine to warrant the GT28's & uprated gearbox etc etc etc. Richards race car produced 600 bhp with modified T28's.
The gearbox man has worked his magic on my box already, not mountune spec but the bearings will be upgraded and the head work done. Think I might just see what it all makes on the current turbo's though, can always do more later.andygtt said:
if you want to aim for over 550bhp then go for them otherwise the T28's will do.
do you have forged pistons and reprofiled cams?
Andy, just out of interest you mentioned the t28's that you sent me are modified, just wondering in what way?, just for my future reference Cheers.do you have forged pistons and reprofiled cams?

Can't remember will have to dig out invoice, thy were specd by yellowshed and same as race car that was dynod at 600 bhp on R&T dynoIncidentally the R&T chasis dyno apparently reads within 1% of the mountune engine dyno when tested back to back.

Incidentally the R&T chasis dyno apparently reads within 1% of the mountune engine dyno when tested back to back.
Hmmmm...; well within 10% I would say...
Apart from the extra work fitting the GT28RS, you do not have to run above 550bhp, the compressor map shows the GT28RS sweet spot is 550bhp at 1 bar, they will run cool and economically. 550 is perfect for the GT28rs as far as i am aware.
Only reason i am going back to T28 route is because it is less work to fit them and i am only heading for 500 bhp and 420lb/ft torque.
