Had a Clio Sport 172 try to race me at the weekend.

Why do these people embarass themseves?

Unfortunately, it got me screamed at by the g/f for going too fast (quite happy to sit and listen to Radio 2 whilst I weave in and out of the traffic on at 120 on the M1 in the tin box, but wets her knickers if I go anywhere near 3-figure speeds in the Elise, for some reason).

Martin, Martin, Martin!

i didnt think you had it in you!

I never rise to the "bait" unless in a "bad"/aggressive mood. I/We have much more to lose than them.

That is, unless its an M3. Stems from the "M3 hunting" i like to partake in when in dad's El 'Beast

Rover!

The M5 is a bit hammered (erm, not my fault sir ) so he's testing porkers at the mo'

He rang me up to say he tried a GT3 (he's not a pistonhead, so i took a while to describe it) but he said his turban nearly fell off from the hard ride!

TT will be too quick for his liking so it looks like it'll be a C4S/C2

Just cant be doing with hot hatches these days, Civic CTR, Corolla T-Sport, Clio Cup just dont turn me, too much torque steer (been spoilt you see

I tend to like proper sportscars or bigish saloons with balls, currently finding 210bhp Saab 9-3 Aero hitting the spot any chance of trying dads M5?

Don't get me wrong, Drag, I wasn't racing the prat. He was tailgating me trying to provoke a race, so I simply opened up a safe gap. Use of throttle under any circumstances upsets 'er indoors, unfortunately. She drives a Toytota Avensis; what can I say?

Ahh...BMW baiting...that brings back memories...

I used to have a particularly scabby and de-spoilered Vauxhall Carlton GSi 24V which was mucho fun for baiting M5's. Shouldn't have been able to come close, on paper, of course, but you'd be astonished how many M5's are owner by people who can't drive properly. You could see their egos shrivel before your very eyes at being run of the road by 500 quid's worth of tatty caravan-tower.

Oooooo! the new saabs are truely beautiful cars. I really do like them. Classy, understated but powerful. I like! I bet the 210bhp is an absolute peach! I bet it pulls like i do on a saturday night from 30-90 and beyond! (in case there is any confusion, we both pull very well )

As for the M5, its done about 139k miles but still solid as a rock. I love it, but it looks a bit shagged

I hope the new M5 is even better! (i quite like the bangle style )

quality! There is something satisfying about "beating" cars which are deemed better. Perhaps that explains the clio up your arse?

As for the avensis, dont knock them! good motorway cruisers
