Some recommendations

Hi all, don't know if this will be well received here or not, but I've recently been trying to discover some 'new' music (I say 'new', but rediscovering old favourites has been flavour of the month recently!!). There are a few really good bands and artists that I've found/rediscovered recently so thought I'd share the love for them incase others are looking for similar inspiration.
Ludo - American pop/punk/rock band. Kind of like Bowling For Soup meets a medieval banquet. Sounds like an odd mix, but the use of old school instruments like a Lute in some of their songs really works - I'd recommend either 'Whipped Cream' for a faster upbeat tune or 'anything for you' for a nice melodic one.
Adele - I'm sure you know of her! One of the best, rawest, most emotional voices I have heard in a very long time. I don't mind admitting that I had a bit of a teary eyed moment listening to 'Someone Like You' (live version), although I would say that the album version of this song is not as good as live, it lacks the feeling that is evident in her voice when she's singing in front of you.
Plain White T's - mix of 'nice' songs and faster paced rock. They've been around for a long time (first album in early 2000's I think) but I've just got hold a few of their albums. 'Hey There Delilah' is a good tune for chill out, but 'our time now' and 'Hate (I really don't like you)' are also cracking tunes.
Joe Satriani - Guitar god. I stopped listening to him (and Steve Vai) when the music all started to feel a bit dated (I began picturing 90's movies in my head that the songs would fit in!), but I pulled out my old collection a few weeks ago and it has still retained all of it's charm. One live album I have (can't recall the name, but 3G or G3 rings a bell) is a good choice if that is your thing.
Athlete - Relaxing melodic songs. Vehicles and Animals is one of my favourite listens at the moment, really lovely songs - the kind that you can picture what the lyricist was writing about in you head when you hear it. They're quite an old band now (saw them back in 2004) so not sure if they're still about or not, but worth a listen if you've not heard them.
As I said at the beginning, not sure if this is a bit of a useless post, but I know I was looking for some inspiration and was helped out on here, so thought I might return the favour! The above bands/artists may be a little too mainstream to be anything new for you all, but it may spark a delve into you record collection to pull out some old favourites and if it does, my work here is done!!
