Hey, right, im hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. Ive just brought myself a 535d saloon as a lil runaround, but have the issue its telling me it has a puncture all the time, and asking me to check the pressures on tyres with a certain marking.

Pressures on all tyres are perfect, is there a way to reset this, or is there a problem with the sensor? Just hoping someone may be able to help, I dont want to spend too much money sorting it, its only a lil runaround.

Its an 05 plate.

you can synch the tyre pressures via the idrive menu, if the warning still appears then I guess it's a duff sensor or you've got a slow puncture somewhere

Read your manual (if you have one). I assume you have runflats? If so, the car constantly monitors them for punctures (which you cant see yourself). It does this by using the cars ABS sensors to detect if the tyres are low on pressure (cant remember how it works, something about them having a different rotational speed at different pressures). However, systems like this can 'get it wrong' over time, so once you've checked them accuratly, you need to reset the sensor (to calibrate it)

The new Mini has this, and theres a button under the handbrake that you hold down for a few seconds with the ignition on (but engine off). This recalibrates the system.

You need to find out how the BMW you have gets this recalibration.

Recalibration is done via the iDrive, as posted above.

Thanks guys, im going to have to have a play of the i-drive system when I get home tonight, still getting used to it. I have to say, really impressed how smooth the car is though, im loving it!

And yes, on run flats all round!
