Hi

Going through the Chunnel at Folkestone later this year on our road trip to Germany but am looking for suggestions about where to stay the night before. Previously we have stayed at The Dog and Bear, Lenham and Marriott, Maidstone.

Ideally

- (Short)Walkable into village/town
- Choice of local pubs and a curry house
- Safe parking for the motor
- 45mins max to the Chunnel
- £100-ish for a decent double/larger bed incl breakfast??

Any recommendable experiences anyone?

Cheers thumbup

If not a hotel, can anyone recommend a nice town nearby? I can then do some research...

Just back from Bruges last w/e and we stayed at The Premier Inn Ashford North on the way out. Good enough for £60 a room. Also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Cheriton previously.

In both cases though, eat elsewhere as the food is average, but the first one has a pub attached and decent beer.

We did the opposite, got a late evening tunnel and drove for an hour, stayed at a Campanile in Lille.

Very well set up for a good blast the following morning!

I have stayed 3 or 4 times now at the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel the night before an early start on the Chunnel and infact have booked to do the same in July this year. It's about a 25 minute run down the motorway to the Chunnel exit in the morning and the hotel has a couple of restaurants and nice leisure club.

Can't remeber the name of the village, but if you come out of the hotel gates and take a right than hang a left about half a mile down the road, there is a lovely village with a very nice restaurant and a couple of good gastro-pubs.

Left my GT3 in th carpark of the Marriott with no issues.

Bon Voyage!
