I've been waiting for something I can control from my iPhone / iPad ever since Mrs AJ broke my Harmony 1000!

Appe said that airplay will be coming into many home theatre, and TV/music appliances. Good idea too.

I thought you were going to say that Pioneer were going to put "i" in front of the name of their news products :yuk:

As it is, looks like there's some very interesting/useful stuff to come.

Am i right in thinking you've still got hard wires dangling out the front of the reciever to connect to iphone/pad etc?

Airplay is supposed to be wireless.

But is this airplay only feasable if you buy and additional adapter or dongle thats gonna poke out the front (where it shows the 2 wires connecting ipod in the vid), is it not built in was what i was wondering?

I presume it will be integral to the unit. If not, the unit won;t be out front, I would imagine. I've no idea how pioneer will do their thing.

Thats what i thought! I've literally just ordered a Sony LX903 3D TV and thats apparantly got Wi-fi built in, so no need for additional add on adapters etc to connect to internet.

Next move is sorting the AV kit out so I would presume a tasty reciever like this would have the Airplay connectivety built in also. How it reads, it appears it doesnt tho.confused

This one doesn't, but that's simply down to manufacturer. It would be easy to have the dongle integral, or even have a hardwired LAN connection. Still, airplay has great potential.
