I recently made up my mind to part ways with the trusted Griff after nearly 6 trouble free years. I typed up the ad last weekend but thought I'd prep the car properly before I advertise (and then go get a Cerb).

The Griff must have known because the alarm/immob system is now having a mind of it's own.

So here are the symptoms if anyone can shed some light...

Neither of the fobs will lock the car. The fobs will also not disarm the alarm.
The alarm is armed - light flashing on the dash, and when I open the doors hazard lights flash. When I close the door the hazards stop flashing after about 10 seconds.
I can start the car and drive no problem (with the hazards flashing every once in a while).

Any thoughts pse?

My Mitsi did exactly the same: drove it to the UK from Belgium, went to collect the T350, left it parked outside the house for 2 days whilst driving around in the new toy, went to start her to drive back home and nothing, completely dead!

Sorry to hear the Griff isn't playing ball, I'm sure CB will sort it.

It'll be worth all the grief though as soon as you get into a decent Cerb

have you had a flat battery recently ?

Alarm could just need resetting. Just undo the car battery earth and take off for 5 secs. Put back on then immediately press the plipper. This should reset it.

Worth a try as it costs nothing but 5 mins of your time and you might be lucky.

Had the same trouble with my Chimaera. Also, it wouldn't always allow a start. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but no change. Then after leaving it in the garage for a couple of days to contemplate its behaviour, it recovered. A few months later it dit it again, and I found myself driving almost the whole length of the Eurotunnel train with the alarm sounding and the lights flashing, having assured the loading lady that it would be fine when we got to Folkstone. Which it was. Seems OK now. I think it's moisture related.

I had same problem Carl found DEAD alarm but working Immobiliser not really much good though so he replaced whole lot. now have new alarm incorporating remote boot release. Lurvely job!

Its funny they do know, when I sold my Cerb the morning the buyer came all the doors and windows would not work and also the charging light came on!! After numerous door cards on and off, bug fuse etc I solved the charging problem my door and window would open but of course not the passeger door?? Like it was saying, yep you can get in but you are not taking that guy??? Did manage to get the new buyer in for a drive and it behaved okay but of course I said Ill solve the problem befor he bought it. Off he went, I popped around to "Top Cats" problem solves in a minute and I was allowed to drive it home with no problems back to normal? You have to sort of sneak it up on them, dont talk about it and get the buyer to dress looking like u, and you might be okay?????
