Pulling my hair out here, I'm hoping someone can help before I go mad silly I have Sky HD downstairs, and want to use the magic eye upstairs in the bedroom.

Sky box is set up to output via RF2, and I'm getting a 9V DC signal out of the back of the Sky box. Magic eye works fine, as does the upstairs TV, if I bypass all the sockets and run a coax cable direct from the sky box to the upstairs TV.

However, the signal won't pass back through the ariel socket in the lounge - multimeter's reading 9V DC at the end of the coax cable, but at the back of the wall plate it's down to 0.1V.

Google thought the problem might have been the metal plated ariel socket being isolated somehow, and pointed at a cheap plastic one as the solution. However, it's the same problem with the plastic socket mad

What am I doing wrong? cry

It can be just down to the different plates. Some that arnt isolated will still drop the voltage down.

Is the plate hidden by the TV unit? can you just maybe remove the internals of the face plate and the join the cable from the sky box to the lead to the room?

I had wondered about that as a last resort - the socket is hidden so it's a possibility if nothing else will work.

Thanks smile

either that or you could try a different magic eye, some work better then others with lower than 9v
