Hey guys, been on this forum for quite a while now but havn't properley introduced myself. Im going to be 19 in the summer and have had this car since i passed my test (3 weeks after my 17th bday biggrin ) It's an awesome Citroen C2 GT, so yes thats right, 110 raging stallions under the bonnet mated to a proper gbox unlike the vtr. I bought it at 54,000miles from an RAC approved garage after looking at many vauxhall astra's. After looking at loads i had become rather miserable as they were all poo, then i drove past a garage and saw this little beast parked outside with about a million other cars blocking it in. So i had some lunch and popped back and had a look at it, then had a test drive and it was SOOO much more fun to drive than the astra sxi's i had been trying, i also liked its "funky" styling. Needless to say i bought it the next day. So with 12 months tax and 6 months mot i drove off on my motoring journey biggrin

Since buying it i have done a few things that all 17 y/o's do:

Fitted Pirelli P-zero Nero's all round (one is now a Continental Sport contact 3 due to a sidewall blowout after hitting a curb rather hard and not being able to get another pirelli at short notice frown )
Piper stainless steel catback
Sportex manifold
BMC CDA induction kit
Spax RSX coilovers (fitted these yesterday, so much fun adjusting the dampers and playing with the handling.)
Apline head unit with ipod in glovebox and handsfree, kicker speakers and tweeters, Orion subwoofer and amp.
Painted the rear valance black.
Added vts front spats to the front bumper
Fitted mk2 rear lights
And most importantly yesterday i fitted my pistonheads sticker!

I also carry out all my own maintenance and as the car has now done 69,000 miles i have done the following since buying it:
Changed the oil + filter, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, front pads and disks, fitted a top of the range bosch battery, aero twin wiper blades, new rear wiper motor and theres probably a load more as i seem to have poured lots of my money into this.
Also changed the cambelt, tensioner, idler, water pump and flushed the coolant system.

Theres a few things i want to do in the near future. First off the car could do with a remap as the fly by wire throttle is a little slow to react and theres a flat spot at around 4k rpm, plus a few more ponies can't be a bad thing wink After this i don't think i will mod the car any more as will just be a waste of money and its fun as it is anyway.

Also it needs a new temperature switch as on long journies the car decides its boiling hot (even though its not) and then freezing cold as the temperature guage goes mental.

Now here's a few (lot) of pictures.

Fitting the MK2 lights:
Before:

During:

After:

Engine bay as it looks now:

Before lowering:

During:

After, its not too low as i live in the country and it can easily manage speed humps, i think it looks just right:

Its my first car (had a few since i was 11 to drive around the fields) and i love it, i know its french and im awaiting the replies calling me a chav but ah well, each to their own i suppose. Its also a fantastic car for hooning around b-roads as the handling is awesome! Any comments positive or negative are welcome and i will try and keep this thread updated. Im sure theres loads iv missed but you get the idea...

Oh and this is what i do for fun biggrin :

I'm REALLY liking that, is the bootlid split folding? I never realised they were on these, just curious, what's the insurance like?

hehe, got to love my big sub :P

As for the GSR pete isn't making them any more plus i think they are overrated. The BMC seems like a good piece of kit and is used on quite a few high performance cars. If its good enough for a Lambo super trofeo its good enough for my C2.

Cheers for the compliment, and yep it sure is, i like to think its basically a mini range rover with the split folding bootlid wink

Insurance is group 6 in old money and group 13 in the new style so very reasonable for us young people. The VTS was insurance group 8 which made it a lot more to insure.

Nice car, after some RSX's myself, not a fan of my FK Highsports.

Do you think they are worth it? Did you use your standard top mounts?

So is it basically a de-tuned VTR/S lump? Or a totally different engine? I'm seriously thinking about one of these next....

its got a different camshaft and ecu to the vts, which is why it has 15hp less.

ic0n: well i have only had them fitted for one day so don't feel in a position to reliably comment at the moment. I have been playing with the dampers and you can affect the handling quite drastically. You can have them fully soft which makes for a super comfy ride, they are 28 stage adjustable and currently i am at 12 clicks on the front and 16 on the rear which has dialled out any understeer. The handling atm is amazing on smoother roads but it hops a little on bumpier stuff so i going to do a bit more "testing" and try and find a good compromise. I bought them off ebay off a chap who had only had them fitted for 1000miles (you can see that they are in excellent condition from the pics)

As for the engine, yes it is the same lump as that in the VTS but it has a different inlet manifold and i have been told that the VTS has slightly bigger valves but essentially they are the same engines, an uprated version of that which was in the 106 GTI/Saxo VTS.

Nice little motor chap.

Some sensible mods and which most old people will look upon as 'chav' but bks to it...... It's your car..... Well that's my view on the tastefully/performance orientated modifying of a vehicle.

I think that the mod's are just right on this, not too much for a small car that you will inevitably not keep forever but enough to keep you going. Loving the 28 way adjustable Spax though :P You doing any TD's?

Hi, Nice car. I always wanted one of these or a VTS but I ended up getting a Twingo GT which is kind of similar, probably not as fast but hopefully a bit lighter on the petrol.

Hey Dan, ah how i miss ed, sliding around on the ice whilst holding onto the spoiler biggrin

Anyway update time. Only small but best £10 I've ever spent! New headlights and sidelights off of ebay. The headlights are now a crisp white instead of yellowey and blue sidelights look quite cool imo, just need some clear indicator bulbs now. Also reset the service indicator which was beeping at me as i hadn't ever reset it but i service twice as often as it reccomends so its not really relevant.

Old vs. new:

Good choicethumbup (I am rather biased mind you hehe)def looks better with the later lights, my C2 amazes me with it's ability to keep up with cars a lot quicker than it on paper and it is brilliant on fuel, only thing I would say though is having driven a GT in work the steering is still too light

I have to agree with you, the steering is a bit too light, its brilliant around town and does weight up with speed but its still too light. Is the steering any different on your vtr then, i thought they were the same considering they are basically identical cars?
