Hi Guys,

Finally signed up to piston heads. Quick introduction: I am still in school and doing my GCSE's but even though I can't drive legally yet, doesn't mean I am not as passionate as the next man on this forum. I went to Le mans first in 2006 and only knew that Audi raced their and didn't understand the whole endurance thing. However by Sunday afternoon I got the bug! I now can recite the entry list for each year I have been and haven't missed a LMS or ALMS round since that weekend, Le mans is almost everything I think about.

Sadly I couldn't go last year because of exams, and I can say it was one of the hardest things I have had to do. But I will be back this year, and I can't wait! Hopefully returning after a year off will make it all the sweeter!

Anyway, this thread has been done on other forums but I dont think it has been done about Le mans.

Basically state a funny statement about your dedication to Le Mans:

Example: you know your a real Le mans nut when you listen to the entire radio Le mans coverage of last years race in hour segments each night for 24 days to keep interest.

Can't wait to hear the replies!

You know when you are a Le Mans nut when you actually contemplate missing your only brothers wedding to attend.

Obviously i didn't, and it made it a bit easier given that the wedding was in a lovely hotel in the south of Italy.

You know when you are a Le Mans nut when you the year you can't attend you ask all those who couldn't make the race over to your place, pitch tents in the garden for those unlucky/lucky enough to join you, eat nothing but bbq all weekend, build your very own beer bottle wall,(ideally out of cheep french stubbies), with the action on the tv tune in to radio le mans, oh and remember to drink till sunrise!

You know you're a Le Mans nut when you.
1. Still have half the gear from the previous year loaded in the car.

2. Try to plan you girlfriends pregnancy so it doesnt clash with the second week/weekend in june.

Oh, yesssss....

.... When on the Sunday evening a few hours after the race, you're already planning changes for next year's gear to take with you.

Had to do the hire car thing this year as I'm carless and my 2 mates are coming from stupid places - ended up spending a bit more just to avoid the possibility of getting a Peugeot.

Yep been there. 2 kids, end of July and early Oct. Was never any risk of conceiving in September - every possible precaution taken except abstention smile as it would've been a disaster to have a kid born in mid June! Trust me I know as 2 of our original group were foolish enough to make the mistake and now only make once in every 3 or 4 years

When you would rather go to just Le mans and do no other motorsport events and not go on a summer holiday, than do loads of Motorsport events and a holiday and not go to Le mans.

When you can't see your bedroom wallpaper because you have so many Le mans posters. And you consider building an extra dividing wall to fit more on!
