LHD Steering racks with PAS

I've seen a bit of talk on here regarding how difficult it is to source LHD racks, presumably PAS are even worse.
I don't know if it of any use but the racks certainly on the S / Griff and Chim and maybe others are based on a vauxhall chevette rack with ford track rods. The rack inner balljoints (inside the gaiter) are spaced a bit further out so there is a bit of additional engineering required.
What may be of interest particularly for the LHD community is that you can pretty easily obtain a chevrolet chevette rack with or without PAS.
I don't know if it will be a direct replacement for the old chevette rack but I bet there's a fair chance.
It also brings up the question were these made in RHD? If so I haven't found one. Loads of LHD ones though, just look on ebay.
The only issue may be that as it was for a daily plodder it may have quite a slow rack ratio I guess.
